Solitude Mountain Resort

 is home to year round fun and adventure. Located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, 30 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, it is one of the smaller ski resorts in Utah. With over 1,200 skiable acres, 82 runs, and 9 lifts, there is terrain for everyone! In addition, Solitude Mountain Resort is home to a large network of snowshoe and nordic ski trails. The Nordic Center at Solitude includes a pristine trail system for nordic skiing and snowshoeing as well as offering workshops, rentals and tours. During the summer, Solitude always has something going on. Whether that’s mountain biking, hiking, yoga, disc golf, live music or food, days and nights at Solitude are jam packed with excitement! How to get there:

Getting to Solitude is simple. The UTA ski bus and ride-sharing app are easy ways to carpool and reduce your travel footprint. In addition to this, shuttles or rental cars are available from the Salt Lake City Airport to get directly to Solitude in 34 minutes. Parking at Solitude Mountain Resort ranges from $5-$20 per day or $225 for a season pass. However, the UTA ski bus is one of the most convenient ways to get to Solitude from Salt Lake City. The Yurt

($$$$ )

The Yurt is an unforgetable dining experience you do not want to miss! First, the evening starts with a snowshoe trek through a moonlit forest that leads to a Mongolian yurt. Following this, you will have a four-course meal prepared right before your eyes. This unique experience is most enjoyable for adults and children over 13 years old. However, the amazing trek is only offered Wednesdays through Sundays during the winter season and a reservation is required. Reservation can be made here: The Yurt Reservations.

St. Bernard’s is a place where you can cozy up to a fire and enjoy a comfy, casual buffet style setting. Due to this, the menu is constantly changing and offers anything from waffles for breakfast to an antipasto bar for dinner. A continental breakfast with a hot plate option is $17 and a hearty dinner is $45. Please see below links for a sample of the menus. St. Bernard’s is conveniently located in The Inn at Solitude, but you can only enjoy this cozy dining during the winter seasons!

Stone Haus Pizzeria and Creamery is the perfect place for anyone looking for a quick and filling bite to eat. They offer a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, soup and salads for dine in and grab and go. Located less than 45 minutes from the Salt Lake City Airport, Solitude is the perfect place for a winter getaway. Solitude Mountain has a mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert terrain to make sure that every level of skier or snowboarder can enjoy the beautiful Wasatch Mountain Range. On average, Solitude Mountain resort enjoys 500 inches of annual snowfall. In addition to this, they have 9 lifts, 2,494 ft (760m) of vertical drop and 1,200 skiable acres to enjoy the snow! Solitude will be sure to leave a smile on all skiers and snowboards faces.

Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding

If you're looking to hit the slopes you'll need a lift ticket first! Winter day lift tickets start at $125 with a variety of terrain and age pricing tiers. Also, children age 4 and under ski for free! Make sure to buy online ahead of time to skip the ticket line and get the best deal!

Looking to sharpen up your snow sliding skills or want to try for the first time? Solitude’s Ski & Ride School has got you covered. For all ages and ability levels, Solitude instructors will help you get you skills to the next level! Ski and board rental packages are also available!

Nordic Skiing

Is Nordic skiing more your thing? Or just looking to try a new way to explore the mountains? With over 20km of nordic trails, the Solitude Nordic Center is the perfect way to adventure at a very affordable price point. Nordic Center day passes start at $20. Lessons and rental equipment is available from the Solitude Nordic Center. Snowshoe tours are a great activity for the whole family and an exciting way to experience snow covered mountains on foot.

Summer Activites


In the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range, Solitude also has plenty of activities to keep you busy all year round. During the summer, hiking, mountain biking, and disc golf are just some of the ways to enjoy Solitude. Hiking trails at Solitude are a great way to spend a full day or even just a couple hours in the mountains. Solitude also offers chairlift assisted hiking if you want to get a head start on the elevation.

Disc Golf

The 18 hole disc golf course at Solitude starts at 9,000ft up and is a perfect way to bring some friendly competition into the mountains, while enjoying the amazing views and terrain.Don't have any discs? No worries! Head to the pro shop to get geared up for a disc golf adventure!

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking at Solitude is another activity that allows you to explore the scenery. With Sunrise chairlift access available for mountain bikers Friday through Sunday, there are over 20 miles of tree lined trails to test your skills on the way down. Guests at Solitude are more than welcome to explore the mountains seven days a week by pedaling up. Also, if you don’t have a mountain bike or want to skip the hassle of traveling with yours, Trek rental bikes are available from the Solitude rental shop.

Need something to do after a long day of skiing? Look no further than the nightlife in Salt Lake City! Utah has many sports teams including the Utah Jazz.
