1. Echo Reservoir
Located just off Highway 80 as you leave Park City toward Wyoming, Echo Reservoir is a popular spot for cliff jumping and cliff diving near Salt Lake City. The area offers cliffs ranging from 10 to 50 feet, giving jumpers of all experience levels a chance to find their perfect height. To access the cliffs, park at the Echo Reservoir Viewing Area on the northbound side of the highway, then walk about one mile south along the road. As the land curves back into the lake, you’ll find trails leading directly down to the cliffs. Water levels are typically ideal for cliff diving from May through July, making it a prime summer destination. Just be cautious — the area is popular with boaters, so always watch for water traffic when swimming or climbing.

2. Lake Mary
A true Wasatch Front classic for cliff jumping and cliff diving near Salt Lake City, Lake Mary offers both adventure and incredible mountain views. After a brisk hike that gets the blood pumping, visitors will find cliffs ranging from 10 to 40 feet in height. To reach Lake Mary, park at the Brighton Ski Resort parking lot and follow the trail toward Sunset Peak. Along the way, you’ll encounter a series of alpine lakes — the first and largest being Lake Mary. The taller cliffs perfect for cliff diving are located on the east side of the lake along the trail, while shorter cliffs can be found on the west side. Be sure to pack bug repellent, as mosquitos are intense during summer months. Water levels are usually high enough for safe jumping from May through July, but always be prepared for quick-changing mountain weather, including rain.

3. Causey Reservoir
A favorite location for all sorts of non-motorized water activities, Causey Reservoir is also a prime cliff jumping location. Located just an hour from downtown Salt Lake City along the Weber River, Causey Reservoir is a fantastic destination for a day of cliff jumping and cliff diving under the hot Utah sun. After parking at the reservoir, you’ll need to either hike or swim to the east side, where cliffs jut out across from the main lookout point. Here, you’ll find a variety of cliffs ranging from 10 to 40 feet — perfect for jumpers of all skill levels. If you plan to spend time in the water, be sure to bring inflatable devices, as there are very few beaches at Causey Reservoir. The best months for cliff diving at Causey are between May and July, when water levels are highest and the summer weather is at its best.man jumping off of a 30 foot cliff into the lake
