Snowbasin Ski Resort – An Easy Experience

Located just 40 miles northeast of downtown Salt Lake City lies Snowbasin ski resort. It was established almost 79 years ago, in 1949, and is well known as one of the longest running ski areas in North America. Of course the mountain has been updated since then, especially since it was the host of all downhill events in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. With 3,000 acres of terrain for skiers to enjoy, Snowbasin has received many awards from renowned publications such as Ski Magazine. Snowbasin offers a world-class lift system including two gandolas, a tram, and multiple express lifts so you spend more time skiing and less time waiting in lines or to get to the top of the mountain. While each guest does need to pay for Lift Tickets, they are discounted $20 if you buy a week in advance and $10 off for 24 hours before you plan to come.

Snowbasin is considered to be a more “quiet” mountain than those of the popularly known Park City and Little Cottonwood Canyon which is perfect for those who want a less busy and hectic time on the mountain. Snowbasin Ski Resort is around 40 minutes from Downtown Salt Lake City and only 20 minutes from downtown Ogden. Being that its location is in Ogden, it draws smaller crowds meaning that Snowbasin is perfect for a beautiful and more relaxed experience. Snowbasin is perfect for the whole family as this location also includes a wonderful cafe and four lodges onsite to unwind and enjoy the beautiful snow from indoors for those who might not enjoy skiing or snowboarding.
