Perfect for: People who love the water, fishing, or getting away from it all in the trees

Travel from SLC: 51 miles south of SLC, up the Provo Canyon just before Deer Creek Reservoir
What We Love: Provo River Resort is an easy-to-access location nestled right up against the Provo River. The best time to visit Provo Canyon and Deer Creek Reservoir is in late June – July when the reservoir is full and the water and weather have warmed up. This location provides easy access to fly fishing, kayaking, and Sundance, the resort also has ziplining which is sure to thrill the young ones. The resort provides water and electricity and has a dump station for sewage waste.

Perfect for: People easing into camping and not wanting to give up all their amenities

Travel from SLC: Just under 26 miles from SLC, head east on I80 until you get to Park City
What We Love: This is the perfect RV park to ease yourself into outdoor adventures. The park is near local shopping centers for food and high-end shopping in historic and beautiful Park City. The resort is open year-round, so come in the winter and bring your skis. The park also provides a swimming pool, laundry services, and WiFi. Perfect for: A fisherman’s dream on the banks of the Upper Provo River, great for hikers as it is deeper into the Uintas

Travel from SLC: Just under 53 miles from SLC, head east on I80 and then deeper into the Uinta Mountains
What We Love: This location sits on the Upper Provo and is the furthest from SLC that we discuss. It is nestled deeper into the Uinta mountain range than any of the others. The grounds and surrounding areas are filled with beautiful greenery and groves of 100-year-old junipers and mature maples. The Upper Provo has some of the best rainbow and brown trout fishing with typical fish around 18 or more inches. This location is decked out with amenities including a pool and hot tub, wifi, restrooms, and a basketball court.

Perfect for A more rustic getaway to a less traveled portion of the Uinta mountain range but with many close luxuries

Travel from SLC: Just under 45 miles north of SLC, up the Weber Canyon.

What We Love: This site is on the location of the historic Como Springs Resort which closed in 1986. It was purchased by a new owner in 2019 and they have begun restoring the resort on the hot springs. The park is a short walk away from a top tubing outfitter for floating the beautiful Weber River. It is also a short 5-minute drive to Round Valley Golf Course, so bring your clubs. The resort includes a private riverfront with access to the water. Full RV hookups are provided by the resort.

Conclusion:

These are just a small sampling of the many different RV parks and resorts that are all less than an hour from SLC. The opportunities to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of your RV are endless in SLC. We encourage everyone to check these and many others out and to get out on the roads that lead up to the mountains.
