Things To Do In Salt Lake City: Plant Shops

Although it may sound strange, Salt Lake City is home to many different plant shops that are both unique and utterly charming. During your visit to Salt Lake City, you best not miss these adorable shops. Plus, they are totally instagram worthy, so bring your camera to get the perfect shot for the ‘gram. Below you will find a list of my top three, do-not-miss plant shops.

Cactus and Tropicals, a plant store that sells cacti, succulents, and other plants usually found in tropical locations.

1. CACTUS AND TROPICALS

LOCATION: 2735 S 2000 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84109
HOURS: MONDAY-SATURDAY 10AM-6PM
SUNDAY 11AM-5PM
This shop is located near one of the cutest, most hip neighborhoods in Salt Lake City, named Sugarhouse. They have a huge selection of mini cacti & succulents that will have you wishing you could take them all home with you. As soon as you step foot into their beautiful greenhouse, you will feel like you’re taking a nature walk through Hawaii. Visiting Cactus and Tropicals will not let you down.

2. THYME AND PLACE

LOCATION: 362 E 900 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111
HOURS: TUESDAY-SUNDAY 11AM-6PM
It’s no lie that 9th south has some of the best boutiques and restaurants that Salt Lake City has to offer – Thyme and Place being one of them. If you have the time, spend half a day walking along 9th south, and you will be pleasantly surprised. When planning your stay in the Beehive State, check out Thyme and Place’s Instagram account to see if they will be hosing a planting event while you’re here.

3. ORCHID DYNASTY

LOCATION: 959 900 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84105
HOURS: MONDAY-FRIDAY 9AM-6PM
SUNDAY 9AM-5PM
Also located on the coveted 9th south, Orchid Dynasty has a wonderful selection of plants and obviously the BEST selection of orchids. Really though, if you love orchids you can not miss this location. While you’re at it, stop by one of the local coffee shops, like Publik and grab a drink.

If you enjoyed any of these locations, you may also be interested in taking a walk through Salt Lake City’s Farmer’s Market or visiting some of our local coffee shops. We sincerely hope you enjoy your visit to Salt Lake City, Utah and come back soon. For more ideas on non-traditional places to visit and things to do in Salt Lake City, click here.
